Sugarless Poached Pears
Ingredients:
4 ripe pears
2 cinnamon sticks
1 star anise
peel of a lemon
1 cup monk fruit
4-6 cups water (enough to cover the pears when immersed)
2/3 cup dried cherries
Here’s How:
Heat 6 cups of water and when boiling, turn down to simmer and add the spices and sweetener.
Peel the pears and carefully place them in the simmering broth.
Cook pears for 1 hour.
Remove the pears with a slotted spoon.
Place dried cherries in the hot water for 5 minutes to plump.
Let cool and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Drizzle with a touch of real maple syrup and a slight shake of cinnamon. Top with the plumped dried cherries.
