Simple Preserved Lemon Sauce

This recipe can accompany a jar of preserved lemons that you can make following my recipe and give as a Holiday gift.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole preserved lemon 4 ounces

  • 1/3 cup lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons mild honey

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 1 large clove of garlic peeled and chopped fine

Here’s How:

  1. Pick out and discard any seeds from the lemons.

  2. Place the lemon into a food processor with a steel knife or into a high speed blender.

  3. Add lemon juice, oil, honey, water and garlic.

  4. Puree the lemon mixture until it becomes a smooth, light and creamy sauce, about 2 minutes.

  5. If it’s too thick, add a little more water to thin.

  6. Serve on top of cooked vegetables, salad, poultry, or fish.
