Dukka, a versatile nut spice blend

The spices in Dukka strengthen the immune system, help eliminate free radicals, regulate cholesterol levels, and prevent high blood pressure.

This nut spice is delicious as a dip for vegetables, or sprinkled on top of protein such as fish, poultry, meat or legumes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup nuts, mixture of almond, walnut, hazelnut (whatever you prefer)

  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds, or 1/4 sesame/1/4 sunflower

  • 2 T coriander seeds

  • 1 T cumin seeds

  • 2 tsp fennel seeds

  • 1 T green peppercorns or fresh ground pepper to taste (optional)

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp organic sugar (optional)

  • 1 T paprika

Here's How:

  1. Gently roast the nuts in a skillet and when cool, place in a food processor and blend till coarse but not a powder.

  2. Gently roast the seeds and peppercorns in a skillet, add to nuts and pulse a few times.

  3. Add remaining ingredients and pulse another few times and store in an airtight jar.

This nut spice is delicious as a dip for veggies, sprinkled on top of fish, poultry, eggs and even dips like hummus.
