Apple Berry Crisp

This crisp can be made completely flourless, gluten free, dairy free depending upon choice of ingredients.

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 2-3 large apples

  • 1-1 1/2 cups berries of your choice

  • 1 T ghee or coconut oil (melted)

  • 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon juice

  • 1 T real maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • fresh grated nutmeg to taste (1/8 tsp)

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1/2 cup almond flour

  • 3/4 cup pecans

  • 1/4 cup almonds, chopped, slivered, or sliced

  • 3 T pumpkin seeds

  • 3 T ground flax seeds (optional)

  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes

  • 1/4 cup ghee or coconut oil

  • 2 T real maple syrup

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp real vanilla extract

  • several pinches of flaky sea salt

Here’s How:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Line an 8/8” pan with parchment paper.

  3. Mix filling ingredients in a bowl and place in pan.

  4. Using a food processor, pulse crumble ingredients carefully so as not to over or under mix. You choose the desired size.

  5. Cover filling with crumble mixture and bake for about an hour.

  6. Let cool and serve on its own or with plain greek yoghurt.
