Black Sesame Sauce or Dip

I recently discovered black sesame butter and love it. It is rich in calcium and magnesium, and a good source of protein, fiber, iron, niacin, B3 and zinc. Try spreading it on crackers or vegetables as you might use peanut butter.

  • Ingredients:

  • 1 cup black sesame butter (easy to order on-line)

  • 1-22 T real maple syrup or honey

  • juice of 1 1/2 lemons, 4 T fresh squeezed juice or 1/2 preserved lemon, chopped fine or blended with immersion blender

  • 1/2 cup filtered water

  • 4-6 drops of Secret Aardvark Habanero Hot Sauce

  • ground pink sea salt to taste

  • Omit lemons and add 2 T cacao powder, 2 tsp ground cinnamon for a delicious variation

Here’s How:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir. (or blend with immersion blender)

  2. Refrigerate and serve with cut up vegetables or over stir fry or grain.
