Dick's Tart Cherry Gummies for Sleeping

Tart cherries are packed with a ton of vitamins and nutrients. They contain a significant amount of Vitamin A and C as well as some manganese, potassium, copper, zinc and some vitamin K.. One serving (8oz of juice) also includes 56 mg of flavonoids including anthocyanins which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. These gummies are great for kids as well as we who enjoy a chewy treat!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups tart cherry juice, unsweetened

  • 1/2 cup unflavored gelatin (Zint gelatin made from grass fed beef; order from Amazon.com)

  • 1 tsp ascorbic acid (vitamin C powder)

  • 1/3 cup honey

Here's How:

  1. Warm honey with gelatin and tart cherry juice.

  2. Stir in ascorbic acid.

  3. Pour into molds that hold 1/2 T each.

Take 2 gummies before bedtime to promote deep, restful sleep. The tart cherry juice is high in melatonin which we naturally produce when we sleep but we may need a boost if we have difficulty sleeping. Also, tart cherry juice is known to reduce inflammation. The gelatin provides nutrients to stimulate hormones which can aid with sleep as well.
